About Pastor Matt:
Pastor Matt is the Lead Pastor at Mesa Verde United Methodist in Costa Mesa. He is known as a passionate preacher, inviting his listeners to think along with him each Sunday. He brings an understanding of progressive theology into the pulpit and is willing to discuss faith with anyone who asks. He loves to teach, regularly holding study sessions. He believes that religion and faith shouldn't be boring or dull and brings a sense of spontaneity and fun to his ministry.
Matt is an avid baseball fan, the Dodgers being his favorite team. He and his wife, Lori, have two adult daughters, two sons-in-law, and three grandchildren. In addition, they are “puppy raisers” for Autism Service Dogs of America and their current charge is usually at worship each Sunday morning.
Matt enjoys Disneyland with his spouse and service puppy, travel, learning, doing crossword puzzles with his daughters, playing with his grandchildren, and having fun.
